A DFW area man was sentenced to 45 years in prison last week for his fifth Driving While Intoxicated Conviction. Stephan A. Hall was pulled over in River Oaks last summer and admitted to having two beers. However, a test later revealed that his blood alcohol level was .18, which is well above the legal limit. Hall had four previous convictions, and had already served some prison time for DWI. Tarrant County Assistant District Attorney Erin Cofer said, “[The] sentence ensures that he will not be able to drive a vehicle on our roads for a very long time.” Hall is required to serve at least twenty-five percent of his sentence before he can even be considered for parole.

Drunk driving is a serious and deadly problem in North Texas and it gives me some relief to see that our local police and judicial systems are not letting repeat offends off easily.
