An unidentified man is dead after a hit-and-run pedestrian crash in Dallas took place on Saturday, March 22, around 8:40 pm. The tragedy occurred on E. Northwest Hwy., between Shady Brook Lane and Skillman St.

The victim was a 55-year-old Latino man, however, police have not yet released his name.

Police say the victim stepped off the median into the eastbound lanes of E. Northwest Hwy., headed southbound. A vehicle traveling eastbound failed to yield to the man. The right side of the vehicle struck the victim and appeared to have dragged him underneath the car.

The man was pronounced dead around 8:45 pm by Dallas Fire and Rescue.

The police have not made an arrest in the case, and no persons of interest have been named.

Unfortunately, tragedies just like this happen all of the time. Pedestrians have no protection when it comes to other vehicles, and they reasonably expect automobiles to yield to them. However, just like in this case, it doesn’t always happen and tragic results can occur.
