• Accidents with large trucks injured at least 114,000 people.
• Drivers of semi-trucks represent only 19.3% of injuries caused by an accident with their vehicle.
• Other drivers and passengers made up nearly 80% of the injuries sustained during this type of accident.

The FMCSA also collects data by state. In 2005, 502 people were killed during 427 accidents with a large truck. Texas leads many states in the number of people injured or killed during accidents with a semi.
